100 Things in 365 Days

April 17, 2010

Sitting here, in my happy place, I can truly say I'm in bliss. Sure, my bag is on the wooden table, filled with internship applications, homework, the "must do right about now" things, but I could honestly care less. I'm here in my happy place.

My close friends (and probably anyone who would take a second to hear my obsession with this place) know that it is here that my worries are set aside. I don't let stress creep in and settle in for a long stay. I dream. I am filled with complete happiness (hence: happy place), and as cheesy as this sounds, my heart is bursting at the seams with how much I love it here.

I'm surrounded by water, clean air, soothing noises (often silence, but of course boats and waves are included), incredible sunsets, and the best part: a panoramic view of what I consider the most fabulous place on Earth. I'm absolutely biased on it, but hey.. this is my blog.

I always make sure that I don't wear a watch. Who needs time when you're in your happy place? Ok, a little lie: I do have my phone with me most of the time. BUT it's either playing Pandora, or serving some purpose unrelated to time. Since my laptop's here, I've got full access to my iTunes. Current music: Jason Aldean's "Wide Open" album. Love, love, love. It's been fitting with the chapter of my life right now. I could play "This I Gota See" on repeat for a ridiculous amount of time. I'm pretty sure I'm meant to be that girl. Obviously, I've been on a major country kick lately, but that's normal. I change music like clothes. It's needed.

But, back to my happy place. As of right now, I'm obsessing over the sunset, and I've got Houston (my "alarm system" black lab), my chair in the my spot on the pier and I'm utterly content. The air is so clean. It's like drinking water, I always need more. I can take a deep breath and still feel like I can never be full of it. It's perfect.

Although I could gush/blog/discuss/whatever about this forever, I'm stopping myself. This is my happy place (you can't know everything about it.) So for now, I'm going to fix myself a "summery" drink and melt into my happy place.

Here's to you and your happy place!
